Auto Insurance
Driving is a daily necessity for most of us, but it is also one of the most significant risks we take every day. Whether you are commuting to the office, dropping the kids off at school, or heading out on a weekend road trip, the road is full of variables that are outside of your control. Auto insurance with Conner Brown and Shelter Insurance is about much more than just staying legal on the road; it is about protecting your financial future and ensuring that a single accident doesn’t derail your life.
When we design an auto policy for you, we start by looking at liability coverage. In many states, this is the bare minimum required by law, but the minimum is rarely enough to truly protect you. Liability insurance pays for injuries or property damage you cause to others in an accident. If you are at fault in a collision that involves multiple vehicles or serious injuries, the costs can quickly exceed basic limits. I work with you to determine a level of coverage that shields your personal assets, like your home and savings, from potential lawsuits.
Then, we look at the protection for your own vehicle. Collision coverage helps pay for repairs to your car if you hit another vehicle or an object, while comprehensive coverage protects you against things that aren’t car-on-car accidents. This includes theft, vandalism, fire, or damage from falling branches and hail. For many of my clients, their vehicle is their lifeline to their job and their family obligations. Having the right coverage means that if something happens to your car, we can get you back on the road without the stress of wondering how you’ll afford the repairs.
We also have to consider the “what ifs” involving other drivers. Unfortunately, not everyone on the road carries enough insurance—or any insurance at all. Uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage is a critical component of a well-rounded policy. It steps in to cover your medical bills and repairs if you are hit by someone who doesn’t have the means to pay for the damage they caused. This is a personal favorite area of mine to discuss because it’s a relatively small addition to a policy that provides massive peace of mind.
Beyond the standard coverages, I like to talk to my clients about the extra perks that make life easier. This includes things like roadside assistance and rental car reimbursement. There is nothing worse than being stranded on the side of the highway or being without a way to get to work while your car is in the shop. These features are often very affordable and provide incredible value when you are in a pinch.
My approach to auto insurance is centered on you. I don’t just want to give you a quote; I want to understand how you use your vehicle. Do you have a teen driver just starting out? Are you driving an older car that might not need full coverage anymore? Or did you just purchase a brand-new vehicle that needs the highest level of protection? By having these conversations, we can tailor a policy that fits your budget while providing the robust protection you deserve. I am here to be your advocate, helping you navigate claims and updates as your driving needs evolve over the years.
